Thoroughly wash the strawberries and remove the stems. Slice them thinly.

In the bowls, alternately layer the strawberries and ice cream. Place a scoop of ice cream on top.

For a sweeter taste, pour the strawberry sauce over the sundae and garnish with freshly sliced strawberries. A chocolate wafer goes well with it.

Advice
The strawberry sauce can also be prepared at home. Thoroughly wash the strawberries and slice them thinly. Sprinkle with two heaped tablespoons of white sugar and add the juice of half a lemon. Mix well and wait for a while until the strawberries release their juice. Then use this as the sauce. The sundae can also be sprinkled with a heaped tablespoon of ground almonds. Instead of strawberries, you can use any other seasonal fruit.
