Stretched Dough for Roll (Strudel)
Stretched dough can be used to prepare homemade rolls, burek, pita, or strudel (in this case, add one egg to the dough). According to the old Viennese recipe for apple strudel, the dough should be prepared so thin that one could read a love letter through it.

Ingredients
-
300 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
1.5 dl Water
-
pieces Salt, table
-
2 spoons Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
pieces Oil, vegetable oil, canola
Steps
-
Sift the flour into a bowl and make a well in the center. Pour in the oil and water in which the salt has been dissolved. Start mixing the ingredients slowly with your fingers until they come together.
-
Knead the dough with your hands until it becomes soft, smooth, and elastic, and no longer sticks to your hands. If it is too dry, add a little more water. Shape the kneaded dough into a loaf, brush it with oil, cover it with a warmed bowl, and let it rest at room temperature for 30 to 60 minutes.
-
Roll out the rested dough as thinly as possible on a damp cloth. Do this by placing one or both hands under the dough, then slowly and carefully stretch it from the center to the edge, towards yourself (see the picture!), to achieve a suitably thin dough in the middle, through which you could »read a newspaper or a love letter«. Trim the thick edges on the sides.

Advice
You can also add one tablespoon of vinegar to the dough, which helps it stretch even more beautifully.
