Stuffed peppers a little differently. Baked in the oven and without the tomato sauce that usually accompanies them. Nevertheless, the dish is absolutely excellent and will impress you with its simple preparation.

Ingredients
-
6 pieces Bell pepper, red, fresh
-
4 spoon Oil, olive
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
500 g Meat, beef, ground
-
pieces Garlic, fresh
-
400 g Tomato sauce, without salt
-
pieces Salt, table
-
pieces Spices, oregano, dried
-
1 cup Rice, white, long grain, cooked
-
150 g Cheese, edamame
Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Place the oven rack in the middle position.
-
Wash the peppers and cut off the tops with a small knife. Remove the seeds and the white membrane inside, which can be bitter. Place the hollowed peppers upright in a baking dish. Drizzle them with oil and season with 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Place the peppers in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes to soften slightly.
-
Rinse the rice in a sieve under running water. Cook it in salted water, being careful not to overcook it. Drain the cooked rice and let it cool.
-
Peel the garlic and onion, and finely chop them separately. Heat the remaining two tablespoons of oil in a pan and sauté the onion until softened and slightly browned. Add the ground meat and cook, stirring occasionally, until the meat is golden brown. Season the meat with salt, ground pepper, and any desired spices (marjoram, oregano, chili powder, etc.). Finally, add the chopped garlic and, once fragrant, pour in the tomato sauce.
-
Increase the heat slightly to bring the sauce to a boil. Then reduce the heat to medium and simmer the sauce for about 5 minutes to thicken slightly. Remove the pan from the heat and mix in the cooked rice, then stir in three-quarters of the grated cheese.
-
Remove the baking dish from the oven and fill the peppers with the prepared meat filling. Sprinkle the remaining grated cheese over the top. Bake in the oven for another 10 to 15 minutes, until the cheese melts and slightly browns.

Advice
Instead of rice, you can also use cooked quinoa, bulgur, or couscous in the filling.
