Ingredients
-
8 pieces Turnip
-
1 teaspoon Salt, table
-
150 ml Sour cream
-
230 g Cheese, Gouda
-
60 g Breadcrumbs, dried
-
50 g Butter, unsalted
-
0.25 teaspoons Spices, pepper, white
-
1 teaspoon Spices, paprika
Steps
-
Cut off the leaves from the turnip. Save the nice leaves, wash them, and chop them. Peel the turnip thinly with a peeler and wash it.
-
In a pot on the stove, bring 2 liters of salted water to a boil. Add the turnip and cook it covered over moderate heat for 40 minutes.
-
Grease a deeper baking dish. Preheat the oven to 180 °C. In a bowl, crumble the cheese and mix it with cream, breadcrumbs, pepper, and chopped turnip leaves.
-
Drain the cooked turnip, let it cool slightly, and with a sharp knife, cut out 2/3 of the center. Finely chop half of the removed center and mix it with the cheese and cream.
-
Place the hollowed turnips in the baking dish and fill them with the stuffing using a spoon. Fill them so that some stuffing is visible on top. Place a small piece of butter on top of the stuffing and sprinkle with ground paprika.
-
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake the turnips for 10 to 12 minutes. Arrange the baked turnips on plates and serve.
