Ingredients

-
50 g Butter, unsalted
-
50 g Breadcrumbs, dried
-
500 ml Milk, whole milk
-
40 g Butter, unsalted
-
1 pinch Salt, table
-
2.5 spoons Sugar, white
-
180 g Semolina
-
2 piece Egg, fresh
Steps
-
In a medium-sized pot, bring milk to a boil, adding salt, sugar, and butter. Once the milk boils, lower the temperature slightly and pour in the wheat semolina. Stir well with a wooden spoon to prevent lumps. Continue cooking on low heat while stirring until the semolina thickens and pulls away from the pot.
-
Remove the pot from the heat and let the semolina cool to lukewarm, then mix in the eggs.
-
Place a large pot of salted water on the stove to boil. Shape the mixture into balls of any size and carefully drop them into the boiling water. Cook until the balls float to the surface.
-
In a small pan, melt butter and lightly toast the breadcrumbs until golden. Use a slotted spoon to remove the cooked dumplings from the pot and serve them on plates. Sprinkle with the toasted breadcrumbs and serve with your chosen accompaniment.
