Tuna Tostada
In Mexican circles, the words tostada and tostado are often interchanged. The meaning is the same, but tostada is the feminine form of the word, while tostado is the masculine. However, there is a big difference in the naming of dishes. Tostado is a toasted bread roll, which is usually enjoyed for breakfast in Mexico. Tostada, on the other hand, is a toasted corn tortilla with various toppings. This time, we will prepare a tuna tostada.

Ingredients
-
200 g Fish, Tuna, yellowtail
-
12 pieces Tortilla, corn
-
100 g Cabbage, fresh
-
100 g Cabbage, red, fresh
-
2 piece Onion, young
-
1 piece Bell pepper, red, fresh
-
1 spoon Oil, olive
-
pieces Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
1 teaspoon Wasabi
-
2 twigs Parsley, fresh
Steps
-
Rinse the tuna steak under running water and dry it with a paper towel. Cut it into 12 equal smaller rectangular pieces. Rinse the cabbage under water, dry it, and cut it into short and narrow strips. Rinse the onion, peel it, and cut it into thicker rings. Rinse the bell pepper, clean it, and remove the seeds. Cut it into narrower strips.
-
Place a pan on the stove and heat it over medium-high heat for 5 minutes. Add a tablespoon of oil and sear the tuna pieces on both sides in the oil. Cook them for no more than 30 seconds on each side. In a bowl, mix together the cabbage, onion, and bell pepper.
-
Heat oil in a deep pan until it is very hot. The oil is hot enough when bubbles start to form around a wooden spoon dipped into it. Then dip the tortilla into the oil and fry it for no more than 1 minute on each side. Place the fried tortilla on a paper towel to drain the excess oil. Repeat the process until all tortillas are fried.
-
Place two fried tortillas on a plate and top them with the salad mixture, placing a piece of tuna on top. Drizzle a little wasabi paste on the tuna. Rinse the parsley, shake it off, pluck the leaves, and add them as a garnish. Serve the prepared dish.
