Walnut and Dried Fruit Pie
This pie can be served with afternoon tea, and it will also be excellent with a cup of pleasantly aromatic coffee. It is very filling, so be careful not to overdo it with the size of the slices!

120 g Nuts, hazelnuts

- 1 spoon Oil, vegetable oil, canola
Steps
-
In a large bowl, mix the flour, powdered sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add the diced butter to the mixture. Quickly and lightly rub the fat into the mixture with your fingertips, lifting the mixture to make it airy and crumbly. Slowly pour in cold water and knead everything together with cold hands into a smooth dough. Shape the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
-
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease a round pie dish with oil. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 0.5 cm thick and line the greased dish with it. Gently press the dough with your fingers against the bottom and sides of the dish and prick it in several places with a fork. Trim any excess dough hanging over the edge. Cover the dough with baking paper or aluminum foil, weigh it down with dried beans, and bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes. Then remove the paper and beans and bake the dough for another 5 to 10 minutes. Remove the dish from the oven and reduce the temperature to 170 degrees.
-
Chop the dates and raisins into smaller pieces, place them in a bowl, and pour boiling water over them. Let them sit for 10 minutes.
-
Prepare the filling. In a bowl, beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixer until fluffy. While continuously mixing, add the eggs to the butter mixture. Then mix in the raisins, dates, honey, orange juice, and grated orange zest. Finally, mix in the walnuts.
-
Pour the prepared filling onto the dough in the dish and smooth it out. Bake the pie in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes. Remove the baked pie from the oven and let it cool completely.
-
Cut the cooled pie into slices, serve on plates, and enjoy.

Advice
Instead of regular walnuts, you can use pecans. It is best to use organic oranges, the peel of which is not treated with pesticides. If organic oranges are not available, soak the oranges in boiling water for a few minutes, then wipe them well to remove the wax, which contains toxins.
