Ingredients
-
180 g Butter, unsalted
-
100 g Sugar, brown
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
1 teaspoon Vanilla, extract, natural
-
280 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
2 teaspoons Baking powder
-
0.5 teaspoons Baking powder
-
0.25 teaspoons Salt, table
-
120 ml Syrup, maple
-
50 g Walnuts
-
pieces Walnuts
Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Prepare two baking sheets and line them with parchment paper.
-
Beat the softened butter and sugar until well combined and a light mixture forms. Add the egg and vanilla extract/paste.
-
Sift and mix the flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients and maple syrup alternately to the egg-butter mixture. Once a uniform dough is formed, stir in the coarsely ground walnuts using a spatula or wooden spoon.
-
From the prepared dough, you can form walnut-sized balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets. If the dough is too soft, refrigerate it for a few minutes. Alternatively, you can scoop the dough with a spoon and place smaller mounds on the baking sheets. Optionally, add walnut halves on top of the cookies before baking.
-
Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, until they turn golden brown at the edges and bottom. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes after baking, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
