Yeast Rolls with Cheese
Yeast rolls with cheese are so light and soft that they practically melt in your mouth. For the filling, you can use ham in addition to cheese, but they are also excellent plain. These savory rolls are most often served as a snack at parties or celebrations, but we find them to be a great accompaniment to salads and vegetable soups. If the smell of yeast bothers you, youll definitely like these rolls, as the amount of yeast in the dough is reduced by half, while milk and baking powder ensure fluffiness and softness.

Ingredients
Dough
-
500 g Flour, Wheat, bread flour
-
0.5 bags Baking powder
-
2 teaspoons Salt, table
-
0.5 piece Yeast, dry
-
1 teaspoon Sugar, white
-
2.5 dl Milk, whole milk
-
1 dl Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
pieces Cheese, edamame
Steps
-
Sift the flour mixed with baking powder into a bowl. Make a well in the center and crumble the yeast into it, adding a teaspoon of sugar. Pour a little lukewarm milk over the yeast and let it sit for 5-10 minutes to allow the yeast to activate.
-
Sprinkle salt around the well in the flour, then add a beaten egg and oil to the activated yeast. Pour in the remaining milk and knead the ingredients into a uniform dough, which should be slightly sticky. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 50 minutes.
-
Divide the dough into 3 parts and roll each into a circle on a floured surface. Cut the circles into triangles (you should get 8 triangles from each circle). Place a piece of cheese (and optionally ham) on the wider end of each triangle. Roll the triangle from the wide end toward the tip, pulling the bottom part with your hands to ensure the rolls don't open during baking.
-
Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let them rise for 10-15 minutes, then brush them with a beaten egg (and optionally sprinkle with seeds). Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 15 minutes (depending on size).

You can omit the baking powder, but in that case, increase the amount of yeast to 42 grams.
