Yeasted Fruit Bread

80 ml Milk, whole milk

Prepare the yeast mixture: In a small pot, mix milk, sugar, yeast, and 80 ml of water. Let it sit in a warm place for 10 minutes until the yeast starts to activate.

In a bowl, using a hand mixer, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Then, add the egg and vanilla and mix well.

Sift the flour into the bowl. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture. Mix all the ingredients well with clean hands, then turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead into a smooth and elastic dough. Knead for at least 10 minutes, then shape into a ball, place in a bowl, and cover. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, until it doubles in size.

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and stretch it by hand to about 0.5 cm thick. Sprinkle the dough with cinnamon, dried fruit, and nuts. Knead the dough again to evenly distribute the fruit and nuts.

Grease a deep rectangular baking dish well. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in the dish. Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 40 minutes. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a small cup.

Remove the bread from the oven and brush it with the melted butter. Let it cool. Once cooled, dust with sugar and slice. Arrange the slices on a serving plate and serve.
