Ingredients
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
150 g Sugar, white
-
300 g Yogurt, plain, from whole milk
-
100 ml Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
350 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
1.5 bags Baking powder
-
500 g cherries, fresh
-
pieces Powdered sugar
Steps
-
Wash the cherries and remove the pits.
-
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Sift the flour and baking powder and mix them together. Using a whisk or an electric mixer, beat the eggs and sugar until frothy. Gradually add the yogurt, oil, and flour with baking powder while mixing. You should get a completely smooth batter without lumps.
-
Grease a small rectangular baking dish well or line it with baking paper. Pour the prepared batter into the dish and spread it evenly over the entire surface using a spatula or the back of a spoon, smoothing the top nicely. Sprinkle the pitted cherries over the batter. Bake the cake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes. It is done when a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
-
Let the baked cake cool, then cut it into pieces, dust with powdered sugar, and serve.
